Dagmar Freist is professor of early modern history at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg.
Her research focuses on political culture and “Herrschaftspraxis”, public sphere, religious identities and forms of religious coexistence in 16th to 18th century German and English history; she has started to develop new research projects on networks, social and economic interaction and cultural transfer in early modern Northern Europe.
Dagmar Freist is associate spokesperson for the DFG Research Training Group 1608/1, Self-Making. Practices of subjectivation in historical and interdisciplinary perspective.
